Recording and editing Excel macros allows you to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows. Here’s how to do it:
- Enable Developer Tab:
- If the Developer tab is not visible in Excel, you need to enable it. Go to “File” > “Options” > “Customize Ribbon,” then check the box next to “Developer” in the right-hand panel, and click “OK.”
- Record a Macro:
- Click on the “Developer” tab in the Excel ribbon.
- Click on “Record Macro.” A dialog box will appear.

- Right-click the button and choose “Assign Macro.” Select the macro you want to assign and click “OK.”
- To assign a keyboard shortcut to a macro, go to the Developer tab, click on “Macros,” select the macro, and click “Options.” Enter a shortcut key combination and click “OK.”
- Run Macro:
- To run a macro, simply click the button you assigned it to or use the keyboard shortcut you assigned.
- The macro will execute, automating the actions you recorded or edited.
